1. SOA Expert Seminar – Excellent Response for Automated Service Development
More than 80 IT managers, project leaders and architects informed themselves about potential solutions and real-world experiences at the SOA Expert Seminar “Service Oriented Architecture: Moving from Hype to Implementation and Usage” held on 8th May 2006 in Zurich, Switzerland.
The speakers from academic institutions, end-user organisations and vendors offered concrete information to the many different aspects of this subject.

2. Delta and IBM Team-up with ADSplus Plugin for WD4z / Eclipse
IBM and Delta are teaming-up to develop a plugin for IBM’s Eclipse-based IBM System z mainframe development workbench WebSphere Developer for zSeries (WD4z) that adds special functions for the development with ADSplus.
The new plugin allows ADSplus developers to edit, generate and compile locally in a PC-based environment. Only the execution of the application takes place on the IBM System z mainframe.

3. New ADSplus Target to Generate Java
Delta Software Technology and The Software Revolution, Inc. have started to work together on the development of a new product component for ADSplus. The new ADSplus target should allow the generation of high performance Java code from existing ADSplus applications.
You might be asking yourself why would anyone want to regenerate an existing ADSplus application into Java rather than in standard COBOL or PL/1? The answer is simple: if you are deploying applications to an IBM System z mainframe then you can save a lot of money!
